Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the two CSPP™ routes?+
One credential, two doors. The Certification Course is for people without a project management certification: 25 hours of live training and a longer exam that also tests project management foundations. The RPL Fast-Track is for people holding a current credential such as PMP® or PRINCE2®: 12 hours of training and a shorter exam focused on sustainability.
I have years of experience, just no certificate. Which route is mine?+
The Certification Course. PMI defines the Fast-Track by what you can evidence — a current certification or a Master’s degree in project or programme management — rather than years worked. The upside: your experience makes the material land faster, and you finish holding the proof that has been missing.
Which certifications qualify for the RPL Fast-Track?+
One current credential in active status: PMP®, PgMP®, PfMP® or CAPM® from PMI; PRINCE2® Practitioner (Project, Programme or Portfolio); IPMA® Level A, B, C or D; APM PMQ, ChPP, RegPM or MPLSC; AACEI CCP; or AIPM CPPM, CPSPM or RegPM. A Master’s degree focused on project or programme management also qualifies — sustainability degrees do not.
What proof will PMI ask for?+
When you apply for the exam you declare your qualification, and PMI can select any application for audit. On the Fast-Track, that means your certificate in active status — name, number and expiry — or your Master’s transcript. On the Certification Course, your school-leaving diploma or its equivalent. Keep copies to hand and the application moves through without drama.
What does PMI member versus non-member mean?+
PMI membership is a paid subscription, and it is optional on both routes. Members pay reduced PMI exam and renewal fees and get access to PMI’s resource library. Worth pricing up before you pay for the exam — PMI does not refund the difference if you join afterwards.
What is the exam like on each route?+
Both run in person at a Pearson VUE centre or online with a proctor. Certification Course: 145 questions over 175 minutes, with one 10-minute break midway. RPL Fast-Track: 100 questions over 120 minutes. Either way you get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window.
Do the two routes lead to different certificates?+
No — one credential: Certified Sustainable Project Professional (CSPP™), backed by GPM Global and PMI. The certificate does not record which door you came through.
How do I keep the CSPP™ once I have passed?+
Renew every three years by logging 30 professional development units (PDUs). Your seat at the CPD Showcase — included with each Regeneration course — starts the count.
Can we put a whole team or organisation through the CSPP™?+
Yes — private cohorts run for companies, public bodies and nonprofits, in person or online, scheduled around your calendar. Each seat carries the same exam voucher, Pro Bono Lab placement and CPD Showcase invitation as a public date. Request a team proposal and you’ll get dates, delivery and group pricing in one document.
For organisations and teams

Sending a team, not just yourself?

When a team shares one language for running projects, the pulling-in-different-directions tax disappears. Regeneration runs private CSPP™ cohorts for companies, public bodies and nonprofits — the same certification and the same included extras, delivered in person or online, around your calendar. One proposal covers dates, delivery and group pricing.

Founding cohorts run August–September 2026.

Ten dates, in person at NovaUCD in Dublin or online — and no cohort after this is priced this low.
